It is almost time for COAST-SCAPES’ General Assembly
This year, the COAST-SCAPES Annual General Meeting will be held in Venice, on the historic island of San Servolo. Between the 26th and 28th of October, project members will gather to discuss all achievements and updates made throughout the first project year.
Organised by CORILA (Consorzio per il coordinamento delle ricerche inerenti al sistema lagunare di Venezia), partner institution responsible for the Venice Lagoon Core Pilot within the project, in collaboration with UPC-BarcelonaTech and OGS (National Institute of Oceanography and Geophysics), the event will feature presentations focused on the progress made by all Core, Replicating, Transfer and Networking pilot sites. Additionally, WP and task leaders will also take the stage to present updates from their respective Work Packages, highlighting best practices and next steps. On the final day of the programme, consortium members will attend a field trip in the Northern part of the Venice Lagoon. During the excursion, partners will have the opportunity to explore natural and restored saltmarshes, traditional “valli da pesca” (fish farms) and wetland habitats, as well as the MOSE systems and the connection between the drainage basin and the lagoon.
The General Assembly is a great chance for all consortium partners to connect, exchange valuable insight and explore new ways of advancing coastal resilience. We’re excited to meet everybody in Venice and look forward to continuing COAST-SCAPES' mission.
