COAST-SCAPES at the XIII Jornadas de Geomorfología Litoral (GEOLIT26)

COAST-SCAPES at the XIII Jornadas de Geomorfología Litoral (GEOLIT26)

From 23 to 25 September 2026, COAST-SCAPES attended the Coastal Geomorphology Conference (GEOLIT26) in Cádiz, Spain. The event is held biannually at rotating locations and has established itself as the premier Spanish forum for coastal geosciences, with each edition organised by a different host university. The 13th edition of GEOLIT26 was organised the Coastal Geomorphology group and the University of Cádiz.

The aim of the conference is to foster the exchange of valuable research findings and experiences across various areas of coastal sciences - geomorphology, coastal dynamics, hazards and management. Designed to inform researchers, technical staff and coastal managers from public administrations, the programme of the conference this year included lectures, oral presentations, poster sessions and field trips.

COAST-SCAPES was represented at the conference by our project manager, Eva Pavo-Fernández of the Polytechnic University of Barcelona, who disseminated the project among the Spanish national research community on morphodynamics with the project’s promotional materials such as brochures.

For COAST-SCAPES, participation in conferences such as GEOLIT26 helps bring the project’s approach closer to the communities that can benefit from its results and open the door to future collaboration and knowledge sharing.
