COAST-SCAPES attended the participatory process “Encounters along the Mar Menor”

The New Water Culture Foundation, one of COAST-SCAPES' consortium members that is responsible for the Mar Menor Core Pilot, attended the last two sessions of the participatory process “Encounters for the Mar Menor,” held on December 10 and on January 27 last year.

“Encounters for the Mar Menor” is a participatory process designed by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge of Spain (MITECO) that also participates in the COAST-SCAPES project. The event consisted of five meetings with representatives from different sectors. The objective of these sessions is to develop and define strategic guidelines and proposals that will allow for a consensus-based approach to the future of Mar Menor and its watershed while fostering the necessary shift in trends to consolidate its recovery in the medium and long term.

During the meeting, the Biodiversity Foundation that is part of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge of Spain (MITECO) delivered a presentation, summarising the objectives of this participatory process and the results achieved so far.
